Day 3 verse 3

For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.  According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.  For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:9‭-‬11 KJV

Day 3 Verses 1 & 2

And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18 KJV Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;  And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;  In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:  In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. Ephesians 2:19‭-‬22 KJV

Day 3

Be a Member of Christ’s Church Everyone realizes that the professing church today is not the glorious reality sketched in the symbolism of Old Testament Scripture, e.g. Song of Songs 6:10. Nor has the church ever fulfilled the description of the New Testament:  “A woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head” (Revelation 12:1). Have you built your faith, not upon a human creed, but upon Christ, the church’s one Foundation? Have you received the anointing of the Holy Spirit? He is yours immediately upon your committal to Christ. Do you bear the mark of the genuine disciple? “By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:35).  Do you live your life so that in the Last Great Day, Christ will say “Yes!” to you?  “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world ....

Verse 3

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;  Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. Colossians 3:23‭-‬24 KJV

Verses 1 & 2

Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. John 10:17 KJV But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise Lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.   But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:   And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.   For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. Mark 10:42‭-‬45 KJV

Unlimited Service - Day 2

The Leader is the Chief Sacrifice My mother was the chief sacrifice in our family. She was a little lady, seemingly unimportant. No one would have thought of her as a leader; at least not according to the false leadership ideals of this world. But she  was  a great leader, because as God sees it, the leader is always the chief sacrifice. It’s because Jesus was the Chief Sacrifice, that he is the Supreme Leader, and the Lord and ruler of the Universe. Jesus declared: “ The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life ”(John 10:17) “ for the sheep ” (verse 11, NIV). If the Father loves the Son because the Son sacrifices, then in the same way as the Son loves us (John 15:9), we too must sacrifice. True leaders die to self so that others may live (Mark 10:42–45). We die to self when we give up our rights for the good of others. We die to self when we put aside our own comfort so that others may receive. We die to self when we place the sharing of the Good News as the h

Verses 1 - 3

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Psalms 90:12 KJV Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.  And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Colossians 3:16‭-‬17 KJV And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Luke 9:62 KJV

Unlimited Service - Day 1

Leave Mediocrity Behind Life finds its meaning in its ultimate objective. This objective is so important that even Christ on the Cross spoke of it. If eternal life is the prize, then every moment of this life is important. Every choice I make in thought, word, or deed is significant. A pebble can influence the course of a river, and one careless choice can turn us away from Paradise. Bousset warns us that,  “The reality that each moment and each choice has eternal consequences for God and for ourselves, glorifies the whole of life. Everything now has meaning and value. The most humble activities can be glorious in the light of eternity. We should be encouraged with the thought that it is never in vain to do one’s best.” Seeing life as a brief probationary period to prepare for the hereafter places all things in right proportion. My eternal destiny, and those whom I can influence should interest me more than all the temporary tinsel of human experience. Christ has suffered th

Verses 1 & 2

But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. Romans 13:14 KJV Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.  But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:17‭-‬18 KJV

Day 6 (last day)

Life by the Spirit The Holy Spirit has no experience with being impatient, hateful, or rude. That’s the language of our flesh. The Fruit will be the byproduct of a life surrendered to the Spirit of God. But we are not called to focus on the Fruit; we are called to focus on God’s Spirit.  Simple enough, right? Too often, we don’t see growth in ourselves and actually say things like,  “I’m just an impatient person,” or,  “I just can’t get along with certain people.”  No, the truth of the matter is that when we have that mindset, we’re just choosing to walk in the flesh. In our human existence, we are the opposite of the Fruit of the Spirit.  Seeking God and asking Him to help us grow in exhibiting His Fruit will challenge us because we are choosing to deny our flesh and feed our spirit instead. We will start being placed in situations that allow the Holy Spirit to develop His Fruit within us. According to Pastor Rick Warren,  “Every problem is a character-building opportunity.”

Day 5 verses 1 - 3

(For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 2 Corinthians 5:7 KJV https://bib/bible/1/2co.5.7.KJV Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Philippians 4:5 KJV For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:  That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; 1 Thessalonians 4:3‭-‬4 KJV

Day 5

Fruit of the Spirit  - Day 5 Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control Here is the paradox of Christian living. We must give up control of self to gain self-control. — Andy Mineo Faithfulness is being dependable in our relationship with God and others. It’s choosing to be true to our word and following through with our promises. Faithfulness possesses a constancy, devotedness, fidelity, and steadfastness in all its interactions. It’s being reliable in a world that isn’t. Faithful people are not disloyal nor are they flippant with their commitments. Gentleness is allowing God to deal with others so that we don’t have to take matters into our own hands. It’s been said that gentleness is the grace of the soul. Gentleness includes being calm, serene, and tranquil. Being gentle doesn’t mean someone is weak. Quite the opposite—it takes great strength to be gentle when the flesh wants the opposite. Gentle people are not harsh, nor are they calloused. Self-Control is being able to ke

Day 4 verses 1 - 3

Rest in the Lord , and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Psalms 37:7 KJV Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.  For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.  Trust in the Lord , and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.  Delight thyself also in the Lord ; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.  Commit thy way unto the Lord ; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.  And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.  Rest in the Lord , and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.  Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do  evil.  F

Life of the Spirit - Day 4

Patience, Kindness, and Goodness Patience is waiting without complaining. — Robin Meadows Patience  is exhibiting calmness during the midst of stressful situations. It’s showing empathy toward others when they are not doing things to our standard. Patience is produced when we support the growth in others as they are on their own journey in life. It’s not getting easily disgruntled when a delay occurs that won’t matter in 10 years, let alone 10 days. Patient people don’t become easily annoyed, agitated, nor do they show intolerance.  Kindness  is being genuinely kind to anyone and everyone. It assumes that all people deserve kindness no matter the differences, viewpoints, or cultures. Kindness celebrates others and serves when there is a need. It looks out for the well-being of others and shows compassion when needed. It assists others and shows courtesy and benevolence to anyone. Kind people do not display animosity, ill will, or envy toward others.  Goodness  is truly desirin

Verses 1 - 3

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Romans 8:6 KJV Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,  Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;  Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;  Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 1 Corinthians 13:4‭-‬7 KJV Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Philippians 4:4 KJV

Day 3

Love, Joy, and Peace Life with God is not immunity from difficulties, but peace in difficulties. — C.S. Lewis We’ll be diving into the nine aspects of the Fruit of the Spirit over the next three days of this Plan.  Today, let’s focus on love, joy, and peace. Love  is the selfless, giving, devoted love of God and others. It’s an active display and compels us to put others' needs above our own. Love honors others and celebrates truth no matter how difficult it is to hear it. It gives of self even when it doesn’t feel like it. Love doesn’t allow feelings to dictate its choices. Love is hopeful, persevering, and trusting. Loving people keep hatred, apathy, and self-preservation far from them.  Joy  is a deep and enduring state of our soul that no circumstance, event, or human can steal away from us. It’s delighting in God and choosing to rejoice in all things. Because our circumstances don’t rule us, our mood swings are nonexistent. This doesn’t mean we are always in a  “good

Verse 3

As eery man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 1 Peter 4:10 KJV

Verses 1 & 2

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22‭-‬23 KJV And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;  For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:  Till weall come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: Ephesians 4:11‭-‬13 KJV

Day 2

The Fruit and The Gifts If the light that is on you is brighter than the light that is in you, the light that is on you will destroy you. – Christine Caine The nine-part Fruit listed in Galatians 5 shouldn’t be confused with spiritual gifts that are mentioned in the Bible. Gifts such as leadership, wisdom, pastoring, encouragement, knowledge and prophecy are given by the Spirit for the purpose of building up believers. The Fruit, however, is produced by the Spirit and is developed and displayed in us when we yield ourselves to God’s Spirit.  If we want to know how we’re growing as Christ followers, we shouldn’t focus on how gifted we are or how well we use our gifts. No, it’s the evidence of the Fruit of the Spirit in our lives that shows our spiritual maturity. Not that our gifts aren’t valuable or vital— they are.  It’s just that we can operate in our gifts while we are gratifying our flesh because they are beyond us. Exhibiting the Fruit of the Spirit is a manifestation of a

For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.  But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.  Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,  Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,  Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Galatians 5:17‭-‬23 KJV

Fruit of the Spirit - Day 1 (New plan)

New Reading plan Fruit of the Spirit - Day 1 The Nine-Part Fruit  The Spirit-fueled development of Christ-like character is liberating, because it brings us closer to being the people we were designed to be, the people our Spirit-renewed hearts want us to be. – Tim Keller The Fruit of the Spirit is listed in Galatians 5—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These qualities make up the Fruit. There are not nine different fruits—it is a nine-part Fruit. The Fruit is like an orange, and inside the orange, there are numerous slices. So, imagine that each slice of the orange is one of the aspects of the Fruit of the Spirit.  The original Greek word for “Fruit” in Galatians 5 is karpos, and one definition means “a result of something.” When the Fruit of the Spirit is displayed in our lives, it is a sign, or result, that we are being led by the Spirit of God. Just like the branches of a grapevine have to be connected to t

Verse 7

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Psalms 51:10 KJV

Verses 5 & 6

Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Colossians 3:13 KJV The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;  To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord , and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;  To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord , that he might be glorified. Isaiah 61:1‭-‬3 KJV

Verse 3 & 4

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2 KJV Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.   Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:15‭-‬16 KJV

Verses 1 & 2

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23 KJV Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:  And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Ephesians 4:31‭-‬32 KJV

Day 7 (last day of plan)

Belongings  - Day 7 5 Tips for Spring Cleaning Your Life Spring cleaning. The time when people all over start cleaning out closets, washing baseboards, and organizing pantries. The minimalist movement has intensified our urge to declutter. We’re determined to give ourselves room to breathe, create, and simply be. It’s a great thing, really, and certainly helpful. But while we vacuum under furniture, flip mattresses, and rearrange junk drawers—are we forgetting to take inventory on our souls? Which is more important: having a clean home or a clean heart? An organized closet or an organized mind? Here’s the deal. Spring cleaning isn’t just about removing the mess but renewing our minds. Here are 5 tips for spring cleaning your spiritual life: 1. Remove. When something is harmful in our lives, like mold or sin, we should work hard to get rid of it. We must stop the negative chatter, toss our stubborn pride, and refuse to salvage pain from the past. 2. Replace. Out with the old;

Verse 3

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. Matthew 23:23 KJV

Verse 2

And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living. Mark 12:41‭-‬44 KJV

Verse 1

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. Malachi 3:10 KJV

Day 6

Belongings - Day 6 How to Give to God on a Ramen-Noodle Budget I was 18 the first time I heard about the “tithe.” It seemed overwhelming. Could I really trust God enough to give ten percent of my college, part-time worker’s income to my church? Ten percent would only be about $7 a week. What could God even do with an amount that small? Then my pastor said something I’ll never forget. He said, “God doesn’t want more from you; He wants more for you.” This didn’t make sense to me at first. How could God want something for me by taking money from me? My problem was that I forgot it was never mine in the first place. Why choose giving? Because God is the greatest giver of all time. He paid our debt by sending Jesus to die for our sins. That’s irrational generosity. So, when we choose to give our first and best to God, we’re becoming more like Him. Tithing has nothing to do with money. God doesn’t need your money, because He’s God. And the church isn’t using Scripture just to guilt you i

Verse 3

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 KJV

Verse 2

And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.  So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,  And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.  And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.  And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.  And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel. 1 Kings 18:41‭-‬46 KJV

Verse 1

And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the Lord came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth.  And Elijah went to shew himself unto Ahab. And there was a sore famine in Samaria. 1 Kings 18:1‭-‬2 KJV

Day 5

How to Trust in God, Especially When You Don’t Have Enough Is anyone else feeling overwhelmed by the number of things piling on top of you? You’ve got five hundred things to complete by sundown, and you never seem to have enough time, money, resources, and energy to make sure every box is checked off. Yeah, me too. So how are we supposed to trust in God—especially when we just don’t have enough? The month I graduated from college was a busy time because I wasn’t just graduating from college. I was also getting married, moving to a new city, and starting a new job. And then, my fiancĂ© found out he would be losing his job right before our wedding and big move. I think our initial reactions were to panic and start worrying. But living by faith meant we had to trust that God would provide even when we didn’t understand what he was doing. Does that mean we can just relax and wait for God to work a miracle? Well, yes and no. We need to work  and  rest, appropriately. We shouldn’t be f

Verse 4 & 5

But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God. Psalms 40:17 KJV But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Philippians 4:19‭-‬20 KJV

Verse 3

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:5‭-‬13 KJV

Verse 1 & 2

If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? James 2:15‭-‬16 KJV Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:3 KJV

Belongings - Day 4

Belongings - Day 4 How to Help Others Regardless of How Much Money You Have I had just met Aisha. Her smile filled her one-room, ten-by-ten home with pride as she told us about herself. This was my first time in Tanzania, and I chimed in and asked her a question. “So, what do you do for a living?” “I break rocks. I make a dollar a day. It’s hard work, but it provides.” It was a question I’d asked a hundred times. But her answer hit me hard. I realized that she and I were not as different as I had initially thought. Our struggles, fears, and hopes had much in common. She didn’t need charity, but humanity. And I realized that was something I could give. There is a poverty that runs deeper than money—and connects us all. We’re all in need of Jesus. And when we realize this, Go empowers us to change people’s lives while they change ours. Which means it doesn’t matter how much money we have or whether we own the latest and greatest stuff. All that matters is our ability to show others

Verse 3

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for

Verse 2

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 KJV

Verse 1

Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God. I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me. I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds. For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. Psalms 50:7‭-‬10 KJV

Day 3

Belongings - Day 3 When I Had Nothing Left, I Learned the Depth of the Words “God Will Provide” One night, I awoke and noticed an orange glow on the windows of our master bedroom. Somebody’s house is on fire was my initial thought. I jumped out of bed, hurried outside and saw the fire. But the fire wasn’t at someone else’s house. The fire was shooting out of our attic vents. As you can imagine, I raced back inside to wake up my husband. My mind was not entirely clear, but I did know to do one thing: Get my three sons out of the burning house. I was relieved once we were all safely outside. Within hours, everything was completely different. The thought, this only happens to other people, was in the forefront of my mind as reality began to sink in. But even in the depths of this type of trauma, I believed God would provide. I clung to that assurance. In times of deep grief and significant loss, I can assure you that God will provide in ways you’ve never imagined. He provided for us materi

Verse 6

Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Matthew 22:36‭-‬40 KJV

Verse 5

And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour? And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when

Verses 3 & 4

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 KJV Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:3‭-‬10 KJV

Verses 1 & 2

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Genesis 1:27‭-‬28 KJV And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. Luke 12:15 KJV

Day 2

Belongings - Day 2 Consumeritis: Is All This Chasing After Stuff Making You Sick? If shopping malls, dating apps, or fashion brands have taught us anything, it’s that there is alwaysmore available. More sizes, more colors—more anything. But all this “more” is making the world sick. We’ve got a global outbreak of consumeritis. Advertisers teach us that a new product will fill our emptiness. The feeling lasts briefly, but it won’t satisfy us in the long run. As soon as we’ve made the purchase, better products will be made available and our dissatisfaction returns. This dissatisfaction is just one symptom of our spiritual sickness. We’ve been taught to search for fulfillment in the wrong places, rather than finding contentment in the knowledge that we are loved by our Heavenly Father. But it’s not just us who are affected. The rapid pace of consumerism, and the mountains of trash that follow, have a global impact. Billions of products are sold in plastic packaging in poorer countries wher

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33 KJV

Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. 1 Timothy 6:17‭-‬19 KJV

Verse 2

Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Luke 12:33‭-‬34 KJV

Verse 1

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:19‭-‬21 KJV

How to Become Your Own Professional Organizer and Just Let Go of Your Stuff Do you ever find yourself wishing you were a professional organizer just to keep your “stuff” under control? We’ve all been there. Purchasing something we later regret. Buying things that fail to make us happy. Wanting a simpler life. Fortunately, God can help us all in this area!  In a world that constantly tells us to purchase the newest stuff, it’s hard to keep life simple. But I’m all about that simple life now. Yes, of course, I want a comfortable, homey space, and I have that! But I’ve found a great balance in owning things without letting those things own me. How I approached owning stuff changed after I read Matthew 6:19-21. I wanted to be someone who stored up the treasures of heaven, not earth, so I found ways to simplify my life. I had two goals. First,  I vowed to create margin with time.  I decided that I no longer wanted to spend my Saturdays shopping. I wanted to spend those days with my f

Verse 2

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 KJV

Verse 1

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 1 Peter 5:6‭-‬7 KJV

Day 6

Practical and Spiritual Steps for Overcoming Stress There is a solution for stress! When we are stressed, we often do not know what to do, and everything becomes chaotic. After God sets us free from stress through the grace and power of His Holy Spirit, we must learn to stay in His rest and peace and not fall back into a stressful lifestyle. As we surrender to the Lord and let Him work in our lives, there is no type of stress that can control us, and any adverse situation can be resolved with His supernatural power. His grace will be our strength, we will receive His wisdom, and everything will work together for good if we remain in His love. (See Romans 8:28.) Here now are some practical and spiritual tips to help you live stress-free as you continue to have faith in the finished work of Jesus on the cross, remain in God’s presence, and live by His grace. 1. Practice a Healthy Lifestyle Many times, stress accumulates because we do not take care of our physical, mental, and em

Verse 2

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Hebrews 4:9‭-‬10 KJV

Verse 1

And Moses said unto the Lord , See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight. Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. Exodus 33:12‭-‬14 KJV

Day 5

Stress Free Living - Day 5 Peace in the Storms Jesus’s life demonstrates one of the greatest expressions of faith we can manifest: no matter what is happening to us or around us, nothing and no one can cause us anxiety, and we are continually able to rest in God. For example, one time, after Jesus had preached to a multitude and healed their diseases, He and His disciples got into a boat and began to cross the Sea of Galilee. On the way, a great storm broke out, and they were about to be shipwrecked. During the commotion of the storm, Jesus was sleeping peacefully in the stern. The disciples were full of fear, so they woke Jesus up. He stood and firmly rebuked the winds and the sea, and the storm immediately ceased. When we face problems, most of us would like to rest in the way Jesus did on that boat, without anything disturbing us. We would also like to be able to overcome our storms in the power of God. And this is possible! However, it requires applying the finished work of the c

Verse 3

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:1‭-‬3 NIV

Verse 2

Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.  God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:23‭-‬24 NIV

Verse 1

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, Acts 3:19 NIV

Stress Free Living - Day 4

Stress Free Living - Day 4 Times of Refreshing The apostle Peter said: Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord. (Acts 3:19) As we read in the above Scripture, we experience times of refreshing or rest by remaining in the “presence of the Lord,” because it is in His presence where we find all we need. In Psalm 23, David describes the Lord as a good Shepherd who provides everything necessary for His sheep so they will not have anything to worry about. The book of Psalms also reveals that, in addition to rest, being in God’s presence gives us joy: “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore” (Psalm 16:11). Signs of Resting in God There are three unmistakable signs that we have entered into the rest of God: 1. We Have Peace When we repent of our sins and receive God’s forgiveness, He fills us with His peace. Wh

Verse. 3

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?  Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Matthew 6:25‭-‬26 NIV

Verse 2

“Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. Exodus 20:8‭-‬10 NIV

Day 3 verse 1

By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Genesis 2:2 NIV

Stress Free Living - Day 3

Stress Free Living - Day 3 The Secret of “Resting” Rest is a principle that is built into creation, and it is a great deterrent to stress. God created the heavens and the earth in six periods that He called days. After He made the world, the Bible tells us, “And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done” (Genesis 2:2). When it says that God “rested,” it does not mean that He was tired and had to spend time renewing His energy. Instead, it means that He ceased from working for a time after completing what He had set out to do. Later, in the law that He gave to the Israelites through Moses, God instructed the people to rest one day a week. (See Exodus 20:8–10.) This was to be a day of rest for the people, and also for their animals. Everything that God created carries in its DNA the need for rest. God also established other forms of rest for His people to follow. For example, after six consecutive y

Verse 2 (last verse)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6‭-‬7 NIV

Verse 1

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.  Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,  though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.  There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.  God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.  Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts.  The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Psalms 46:1‭-‬7 NIV

Stress Free Living - Day 2

Stress Free Living -Day 2 What Is Causing You Stress? What causes you stress? What is the greatest stress factor in your life? To know how to deal with your stress, you must first identify its cause. Let’s look at some of the most prominent stress-inducers. Anxiety Anxiety is based on uncertainty about the future. Some people are anxious and worried about what will happen to them because they feel they are not in control of their lives or a particular situation. Fear Many people live in fear because of distressing events and trends that are occurring in the world today. They may experience restlessness, panic attacks, and even anguish, for fear of what might happen to them, their family members, their job or business, or other concerns. Unrealistic Expectations There are many negative circumstances in life that we can change for the better, and we should take action to remedy them. However, if we can’t change our circumstances, but we still keep our original expectations for

New Bible plan: Stress Free Living! Day 1 (Unless otherwise indicated, all Scripture verses are from the New King James Version.) Day 1: We Live in a Stressful World A recent Gallup poll found that more than a third of the world’s population experiences a lot of worry and stress. Stress is having such a negative effect in the U.S., where nearly half of Americans say they’re suffering from it, that it’s eating away at their overall well-being, according to the American Psychological Association. Stress itself is not always negative. In its basic form, it is a built-in physiological response that is triggered in emergency situations when we believe we are facing a threat or danger, whether real or perceived. Or, during times when we experience heightened expectations for performance regarding a particular task, whether the expectations are self-generated or come from an outside source. In a temporary form, stress can help us to function quickly under pressure and motivate us to g
