Jeremiah 17:9-10

Jeremiah 17:9-10  (NIV)
9 The heart is deceitful above all things
and beyond cure.
Who can understand it?
10 “I the Lord search the heart
and examine the mind,
to reward each person according to their conduct,
according to what their deeds deserve.”

Meaning comes from “Life Application Bible” – God makes it clear why we sin– it’s a matter of the heart.  Our heart have been inclined toward sin from the time we were born.  It is easy to fall into the routine of forgetting and forsaking God.  But we can still choose whether or not to continue to sin.  We can yield to a specific temptation, or we can ask God to help us resist temptation when it comes.

These words, are never truer.  All we have to do is ask God to help us to resist sin.  It is hard, but living a life for Christ is so much better.  But, believe me….. Satan will try to get in your life if you let down your guard just a little.  So here’s a saying from my church.

Build the walls higher and higher so Satan can’t get in! Amen!
